A couple of times a year we will challenge you to create your own version of a famous master piece or master and participate with it in a free art competition.

The challenge this time is to Create your selfportrait in the style of a Picasso! He had many different styles but we belive that when most people think of a Picasso they think of the style like the painting Portrait of Dora Maar.

We want you to paint or draw in an any chosen material and show us your personal selfportrait with the feeling of it beeing a Picasso in that manner.

When asked to name one famous artist, many people would immediately say Pablo Picasso. What gave him that status? The answer is that he was the ultimate creative person, always following his impulse and his curiosity.

All contributions that are sent in on time will participate in a public vote. The winner gets a US$60 Gift Card from Amazon.com!

Everyone from 15 years of age can join in, not just members on Show Your Own Art Gallery.

Art Contest Guide Lines

Here's how you participate

1) Make your own selfportait in Picasso style by drawing or painting!

2) Take a digital photograph or scan your art work. If you need tips on how to take a good photograph, you will find that on the Photographing Your Artwork page.

Please note: The image must be no larger than 800x600 pixels. For help with editing your image and Free Software go to the Edit Your Photos page.

3) Go to the Registration Form further down below and fill out your name, e-mail address, city, country and the title of your artwork. Try to be imaginative when you think of the title, to make it less likely that someone chooses the same title as you. Please note: We will only use your e-mail address to send you information about this event.

4) After this you proceed to the Art Contest Contribution Form (under the Registration Form) to upload your picture. Add a short description of yourself and/or your artwork. Make sure you use the same title of your artwork as you did in the Registration Form. Last you click on the Submit Your Contribution button. You're done!

Central European Time

October 4th 2011 Starting date.
Now you're ready to begin! You will have almost two months from the starting date to complete and send in your contribution.

November 30th Contest Closes.
No contributions will be accepted after the closing date.

December 1st Opening of Art Contest Gallery and Public Voting.
Now you will be able to view all contributions in the Art Contest Gallery. Here is also where you will be able to vote for your favourite.

December 31 Voting ends.
This is the last day that you can vote for your favorite.

Januari 6th 2012 And the winner is...!
Finally we will announce the winner!
